ArtAndes travelers continue to connect with Peru

On a beautiful July evening, fourteen supporters of 'Fundacion Comunidad' gathered on the rooftop of Lois Libby's Mill City condo, for a gourmet dinner. The participants have all been to Peru and continue to hold the culture close at heart. The dinner was a live auction item at the April fundraiser, donated by board member Kevin Pechacek, owner of The WestWind Restaurant and River Valley Catering. We were blessed with a lovely evening, the Mill City Opera music flowing up from the ruins below and a fireworks display.

The group bonding that happens on a Peru trip, often creates friendships for life. I am very fortunate to be in the middle of it all. Wilber Quispe too! After helping us serve, he sat at the middle of the table as their guest of honor for dinner. Wilber brings the Spirit of the Andes to Minnesota every summer. I plan a lot of social events around his time here, and although he's not an overly social guy, he is part of a special connection for many, and that feeds his soul.
